1. Hola y bienvenidos, me presento soy Fausto miembro de Carousel Revista y es un placer para mí entrevistarlos el día de hoy. Quisiera comenzar por su nombre ya que me ha llamado la atención por su peculiaridad “Rellyo Bambini”. ¿A qué se debe o qué significa?.// Hello and welcome. Let me introduce myself, I’m Fausto, a member of Carousel Revista, and it’s a pleasure for me to interview you today. I’d like to begin with your name, as it has caught my attention because of its peculiarity: “Rellyo Bambini.” What is the reason behind it, or what does it mean?

¡Hola! Mucho gusto. El nombre originalmente comenzó como un seudónimo cuando estaba escribiendo un libro de poesía artística que planeaba autopublicar — algo que había escrito en la secundaria. Desarmé las letras de mi propio nombre, formando algo así como un anagrama, y se me ocurrió Rellyo Bambini.“Bambini”, que significa niños, inmediatamente me hizo pensar en “The Great Bambino”, Babe Ruth — un personaje tan único, más grande que la vida. Rellyo fue simplemente un nombre que encontré y que sonaba genial. Pero después de hacer una investigación más reciente, descubrí que puede estar conectado con el significado “dorado”, lo cual sería bastante increíble si el nombre completo esencialmente significara “niño dorado”.//Hello! Nice to meet you. The name originally started as a pen name when I was writing an artsy poetry book I planned to self-publish — something I had written back in high school. I pulled apart the letters of my own name, kind of forming an anagram, and came up with Rellyo Bambini. “Bambini,” meaning children, immediately made me think of “The Great Bambino,” Babe Ruth —such a unique, larger-than-life character. Rellyo was just a name I came across that sounded cool. But after doing some more recent research, I found it may be connected to the meaning “golden,” which would be pretty wild if the full name essentially meant “golden child.”

2. ¿Es el anonimato parte de la esencia de Rellyo Bambini?.// Is anonymity part of Rellyo Bambini’s essence?

No exactamente. No es algo detrás de lo que quiera esconderme. Me encantaría formar una banda completa y empezar a tocar en vivo en un futuro cercano. Pero las canciones y la música son parte de un ethos más amplio — mundos enteros que quiero crear y compartir con el mundo. Y en ese sentido, Rellyo Bambini tendrá muchas caras..//Not exactly. It’s not something I want to hide behind. I would love to put together a full band and start playing shows in the near future. But the songs and the music are part of a larger ethos — entire worlds that I want to create and share with the world. And in that sense, Rellyo Bambini will have many faces.

3. Bien, ya volcándonos sobre el material en cuestión, tengo entendido que el título de su álbum “Cloned and Upgraded, Insert Soul Here” acarrea un significado intencional, que su naturaleza provocativa invita a reflexionar según el estado del mundo actual. ¿Podrían elaborar al respecto?.//Well, now turning to the material in question, I understand that the title of your album “Cloned and Upgraded, Insert Soul Here” carries an intentional meaning, and that its provocative nature invites reflection in light of the current state of the world. Could you elaborate on that? 

Sí, el significado es profundo. Creo que es importante para nosotros como seres humanos despertar cada día esforzándonos por ser apenas un poco mejores — si no mucho mejores — de lo que éramos el día anterior. Si no estamos aquí para aprender y crecer, no estoy seguro de para qué estamos en esta tierra.Me siento muy conectado y en sintonía con la realidad en la que nos encontramos — especialmente mientras seguimos avanzando esta tecnología casi de otro mundo a un ritmo acelerado. Pero sin importar cuán lejos lleguemos en el mundo de la tecnología, si no está fundamentada y anclada en la mejora de la vida humana y de la existencia humana, entonces no sirve a ningún propósito real en absoluto.//Yes, the meaning runs deep. I believe it’s important for us as humans to wake up every day striving to be just a little better — if not much better — than we were the day before. If we’re not here to learn and grow, I’m not sure what we’re on this earth to do. I feel very connected and in tune with the reality we find ourselves in — especially as we continue advancing this almost otherworldly technology at an accelerating pace. But no matter how far we go into the world of technology, if it isn’t grounded in and anchored to the betterment of human life and human existence, then it serves no real purpose at all.

4. Desde luego un proyecto colorido, vibrante y lleno de vida ¿Cómo les ha resultado el proceso de elaboración del álbum?.//Certainly a colorful and vibrant project full of life. How has the process of creating the album been for you?

Amo la música de todo tipo, y creo en ese mismo espíritu. Ya sea una idea antigua que grabé hace años y que revivo, pulo y embellezco, o algo profundamente arraigado en la tecnología moderna, el proceso siempre es increíble para mí. Hay algo poderoso en dar forma a una obra de arte que realmente amas — tanto que te sientes impulsado a compartirla con los demás — simplemente porque sabes de primera mano la felicidad que puede brindar.//I love music of all kinds, and I create in that same spirit. Whether it’s an old idea I recorded years ago that I revive, polish, and embellish, or something deeply rooted in modern technology, the process is always incredible to me. There’s something powerful about shaping a piece of art you truly love — so much so that you feel compelled to share it with others — simply because you know firsthand the happiness it can provide.

5. Su fascinación por la música ecléctica si bien es obvia, pues no se encasillan en un único género o estilo unidimensional, sino que se permiten incursionar en diversos estilos e incluso géneros. ¿A qué se debe esta implementación que mezcla funk, dubstep, pop, y psicodelia entre otros?.// Your proclivity to eclectic music is evident, I mean since you don’t confine to a single genre or a one-dimensional style, but instead allow yourself to explore various styles and even genres, what motivates this approach that blends funk, dubstep, pop, and psychedelia, among others?

No tengo miedo de existir fuera de los límites de lo que alguien piensa que se supone que debe ser una “banda”. Eso es una construcción. Queremos todo detallado, categorizado, ordenadamente registrado — pero la realidad no es así. La mayoría de las personas aman muchos estilos diferentes de música. Entonces, ¿quién dice que necesito ser empaquetado y etiquetado de una sola manera?La esencia de lo que quiero crear lleva un poco de yin y yang — el Rebelde y la Estrella Brillante, ambos incrustados en el núcleo. Si me encanta cómo suena, entra en el álbum. El género no importa.//I’m not afraid to exist outside the boundaries of what someone thinks a “band” is supposed to be. That’s a construct. We want everything itemized, categorized, neatly logged — but reality isn’t like that. Most people love many different styles of music. So who’s to say I need to be packaged and labeled in a single way? The essence of what I want to create carries a bit of yin and yang — the Rebel and the Shining Star, both embedded in the core. If I love how it sounds, it makes the album. Genre doesn’t matter.

6. Partiendo de lo anterior destaco su libertad de estilos contrastando en un interesante caos cohesivo. Como por ejemplo como el satírico y moderno “Crypto Kids” antecede la épica de Edipo en “The Story of Oedipus” para volver a realzar el contraste una vez más con el simpático “Whirlwind Chatter”.  ¿Cómo les resultan tales transiciones tan orgánicamente? ¿Cuentan con inspiraciones que sirvan de guía o se trata de algún método propio?.// Building on the above, I’d like to highlight your stylistic freedom, which contrasts in a compelling, cohesive chaos. For example, the satirical and modern “Crypto Kids” precedes the epic Oedipus in “The Story of Oedipus,” only to heighten the contrast once again with the playful “Whirlwind Chatter.”How do these transitions come together so organically? Do you have particular inspirations that serve as a guide, or is it the result of a method of your own?

Siento que esta es una esencia muy esotérica, interna — algo que puede evolucionar a través del paisaje sonoro y la narración. Incluso puedes tomar 28 canciones y darles forma en una experiencia narrativa, donde cada pista fluya de un fragmento de historia, una cosmovisión, una dimensión hacia la siguiente. Los sonidos, aunque se sostienen de manera única por sí mismos, pueden actuar como un comentario sutil sobre lo que vino antes — casi como una conversación silenciosa entre pistas. Ese concepto siempre ha resonado conmigo.Similar a Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band de The Beatles, la idea de entrar y salir de diferentes mundos dentro de un solo cuerpo de trabajo se siente poderosa. Ese movimiento entre dimensiones me brinda una gran alegría.//I feel this is a very esoteric, internal essence — something that can evolve through soundscapeand storytelling. You can take even 28 songs and shape them into a narrative experience,where each track flows from one story fragment, one worldview, one dimension into the next.The sounds, even though they stand uniquely on their own, can act as subtle commentary onwhat came before — almost like a quiet conversation between tracks. That concept has alwaysresonated with me.Similar to Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles, the idea of stepping in and out of different worlds within a single body of work feels powerful. That movement between dimensions brings me great joy.

7. Finalmente y a modo de cierre. ¿Qué ha significado el lanzamiento de “Cloned & Upgraded, Insert Soul Here (Rebirth Edition)” para Rellyo Bambini?.// Finally, and by way of closing, what has the release of “Cloned & Upgraded, Insert Soul Here (Rebirth Edition)” meant for Rellyo Bambini?

En cierto nivel, la expresión en esta forma — algo que puede ser lanzado al mundo y compartido, con suerte ad infinitum — puede significarlo todo. Puede llevar una esencia de sentimiento, un punto de vista, de una manera que permita a mis hijos, y a los hijos de ellos después, vislumbrar dentro de mi mente. Casi como si pudieran descargar mi visión.Eso se siente como el futuro para mí. Y espero que la humanidad conserve su cordura, para que podamos asegurar que la humanidad continúe — no solo sobreviviendo, sino prosperando — por siempre en el cosmos, compartiendo nuestras historias y creaciones con seres y presencias que aún no podemos siquiera comprender.//On some level, expression in this form — something that can be released into the world and shared, hopefully ad infinitum — can mean everything. It can carry an essence of feeling, a point of view, in a way that allows my children, and their children after them, to glimpse into my mind. Almost as if they could download my vision. That feels like the future to me. And I hope mankind keeps its wits about it, so we can ensure humanity lives on — not just surviving, but thriving — forever in the cosmos, sharing our stories and creations with beings and presences we cannot yet even fathom.
